Before your appointment

Please read the below carefully prior to attending your appointment.

• NO caffeine on the day of your appointment

• NO alcohol for 48 hours before your appointment.

Both of these can thin your blood and make you bleed excessively, affecting your results and how the Microblading will look.

• Stop using Retinol, facial acids/exfoliators for 2 weeks before your appointment.

• No Botox/Filler for 2 weeks either side of your appointment. Please note any future aesthetics may affect the look of your brow shape after you’ve had microblading.

• Please leave your brows unplucked/waxed/tinted - we will shape them in your appointment.

• You will be contacted prior to your appointment regarding a patch test.

Aftercare

Aftercare is very important to achieve the best results. Please refer back to this section throughout your healing process.

PLEASE NOTE : There is NO guarantee in the results and longevity of microblading. Every skin heals differently and pigment will retain in each person individually. Semi-permanent makeup is an art form and not an exact science, so results will vary.

Remember - your selected colour will be stronger and more sharply defined immediately after treatment, but the colour will soften and lighten up to 50% after healing.

If you are unsure of anything, please contact us.

If your brows remain inflamed, red and sore for more than 3 days please contact your GP.

Days
What to expect

24 hours

The treatment site may look red and sore and feel itchy. An ice pack wrapped in a clean cloth may be used to reduce swelling.

A good idea is to swap for a clean pillowcase at night and tie your hair back from your face for these first 24 hours to limit risk of infection.

The most important part: a DRY HEAL of your brows is required for the next 2 weeks. This means absolutely no water or moisture on the brow area, no makeup, no moisturiser and yes - no showers! No excessive sweating for 5 days and try to limit strenuous exercise whilst they heal. Please use alternative methods for hair washing and facial cleansing with wipes or cotton pads only, and not on the brow area.

Apply a pin-head amount of the aftercare balm onto brows using a clean cotton bud for each brow once more on the day of your appointment. The infection risk is at its highest for the first week of healing, you must wash hands thoroughly before applying balm.

72 hours

Dryness, itchiness and flaking is to be expected. Throughout the healing process DO NOT pick, peel or scratch your brows. The scabbing and healing process is completely normal and infection can occur, the area can heal unevenly, or even scar, if aftercare is not followed. Allow the wound to flake on its own and be very mindful of keeping the area clean and untouched.

Wash hands and apply a pin-head amount of aftercare balm twice daily using a clean cotton bud for each brow for the next 7 days.

Other than the aftercare balm, ‘Dry Healing’ of the brows is recommended. No makeup on the area for 7 days.

2 weeks

Do not wash, rinse, shower or allow water over the brows for 2 weeks. Please use other cleansing methods for your face in this time and if needed get help to shower and wash your hair. If the area gets wet, immediately gently pat dry using a clean tissue.

Do not expose the healing skin to direct sunlight, tanning beds, jacuzzis, steam rooms or saunas, chlorinated pools, skin creams or ointments for 2 weeks.

4-8 weeks

As the brow scabs, flakes and heals, you will notice the colour will look like it’s missing in places, faded or patchy. This is completely normal as the pigment takes and develops in the skin layer. This is not an error of the treatment!

Gradually you will then see the colour start pushing back through and developing again as the skin heals.

Your top-up appointment is for the purpose of re-doing any areas needed and further defining the colour. The healing process above will be repeated after this appointment.
